Stationery Product Price in the Philippines (CIF) - 2023

In June 2023, the average stationery product import price amounted to $6,130 per ton, rising by 15% against the previous month. Over the period under review, import price indicated strong growth from June 2022 to June 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +6.9% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2023 figures, stationery product import price increased by +45.5% against April 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2022 when the average import price increased by 81% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $6,355 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to June 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($15,449 per ton), while the price for Taiwan (Chinese) ($3,854 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Singapore (+14.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average stationery product export price amounted to $3,701 per ton, declining by -42.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a noticeable setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 an increase of 139% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $16,705 per ton. From 2016 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($15,765 per ton), while the average price for exports to Palau ($171 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Japan (+11.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, stationery product imports reduced to $15M in 2022. In general, imports, however, faced a precipitous setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 23% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $52M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
