Stationery Product Price in the Netherlands (CIF) - 2022

The average stationery product import price stood at $3,936 per ton in 2022, waning by -2.7% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a resilient increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +6.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, stationery product import price increased by +94.0% against 2012 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when the average import price increased by 23% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $4,043 per ton in 2021, and then declined slightly in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($6,071 per ton), while the price for Austria ($2,220 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Denmark (+15.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2023 figures, stationery product export price increased by +44.3% against April 2023 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in October 2022 an increase of 59% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $7,578 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to June 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Denmark ($12,600 per ton), while the average price for exports to Portugal ($5,016 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Denmark (+7.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Stationery Product Imports in the Netherlands

In 2022, the amount of stationery products imported into the Netherlands reduced to 68K tons, with a decrease of -9.2% on the year before. Overall, imports recorded a pronounced shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 11% against the previous year.
