Stationery Product Price in Portugal (FOB) - 2022

The average stationery product export price stood at $6,385 per ton in 2022, rising by 19% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a resilient expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, stationery product export price increased by +82.7% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average export price increased by 28% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($39,284 per ton), while the average price for exports to Luxembourg ($734 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+26.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average stationery product import price stood at $3,842 per ton in June 2023, rising by 11% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.5%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in February 2023 an increase of 41% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $4,690 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to June 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was France ($9,486 per ton), while the price for India ($1,360 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+7.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, exports of stationery products from Portugal reduced to 4.7K tons, dropping by -10.7% against the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a deep downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 6.8%.

In value terms, stationery product exports rose remarkably to $30M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +5.3% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years.
