The average stationery product export price stood at $1,067 per ton in 2022, waning by -35% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price faced a deep reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 72% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $4,252 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($1,740 per ton), while the average price for exports to Iraq ($676 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kuwait (+71.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Over the period under review, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when the average import price increased by 39%. The import price peaked at $2,676 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Austria ($10,914 per ton), while the price for India ($799 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Austria (+25.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
