Stationery Product Price in Belarus (CIF) - 2022

The average stationery product import price stood at $2,551 per ton in March 2022, which is down by -54.5% against the previous month. In general, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2021 an increase of 104% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $6,476 per ton. From October 2021 to March 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In March 2022, the country with the highest price was Poland ($6,219 per ton), while the price for China ($1,956 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ukraine (+7.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average stationery product export price stood at $1,943 per ton in March 2022, dropping by -58.1% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, posted perceptible growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in August 2021 when the average export price increased by 77% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $4,645 per ton in December 2021; however, from January 2022 to March 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Russia.

From March 2021 to March 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Russia amounted to +2.4% per month.

Stationery Product Imports in Belarus

After two years of decline, supplies from abroad of stationery products increased by 42% to 3.8K tons in 2022. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +8.2% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, stationery product imports soared to $16M in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a remarkable increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +11.9% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +69.5% against 2020 indices. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
