Starches; Inulin Price in Thailand (FOB) - 2023

In September 2023, the average starches; inulin export price amounted to $557 per ton, stabilizing at the previous month. Over the period from September 2022 to September 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.2%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 when the average export price increased by 9% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure in September 2023.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major overseas markets. In September 2023, the countries with the highest prices were the United States ($642 per ton) and the Philippines ($587 per ton), while the average price for exports to Singapore ($516 per ton) and China ($547 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Philippines (+1.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average starches; inulin import price stood at $793 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 23% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The import price peaked at $850 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($1,804 per ton), while the price for Lao People's Democratic Republic ($470 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Lao People's Democratic Republic (+3.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
