Spices; Nutmeg Price in Norway (CIF) - 2022

In 2022, the average spices; nutmeg import price amounted to $19,085 per ton, with a decrease of -9.4% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a buoyant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when the average import price increased by 24%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $21,073 per ton in 2021, and then contracted in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($196,440 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($658 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Indonesia (+23.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Spices; Nutmeg Imports in Norway

After two years of decline, purchases abroad of spices; nutmeg increased by 5.4% to 28 tons in 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a deep downturn.

In value terms, spices; nutmeg imports declined to $531K in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +4.9% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 10%.
