In February 2023, the average speed changer import price amounted to $21,523 per ton, which is down by -5.7% against the previous month. Overall, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 6.6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $24,046 per ton in May 2022; however, from June 2022 to February 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In February 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Germany ($23,780 per ton) and the United States ($22,827 per ton), while the price for China ($21,085 per ton) and Italy ($22,215 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From February 2022 to February 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (-0.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In 2022, the average speed changer export price amounted to $19,881 per ton, declining by -17.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded strong growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when the average export price increased by 138%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $27,365 per ton. From 2018 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($35,344 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($1,972 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Romania (+21.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
