The average speed changer import price stood at $9,463 per ton in 2022, falling by -16.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a pronounced downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when the average import price increased by 21% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $11,723 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was South Africa ($17,992 per ton), while the price for China ($5,390 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
