Speed Changer Price in Japan (FOB) - 2023

The average speed changer export price stood at $15,947 per ton in July 2023, falling by -1.9% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in November 2022 when the average export price increased by 9.3% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $17,647 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to July 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was South Korea ($20,692 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Philippines ($6,761 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+9.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average speed changer import price stood at $9,136 per ton in July 2023, with a decrease of -6% against the previous month. In general, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 an increase of 14% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $10,401 per ton. From January 2023 to July 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($18,727 per ton), while the price for China ($6,183 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Indonesia (+2.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
