The average speed changer import price stood at $13,657 per ton in May 2023, growing by 4.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in November 2022 an increase of 28% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $13,965 per ton in May 2022; however, from June 2022 to May 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($16,435 per ton), while the price for the UK ($7,676 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From May 2022 to May 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+1.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average speed changer export price stood at $20,498 per ton in May 2023, which is down by -3.9% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 when the average export price increased by 37% m-o-m. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $21,326 per ton, and then fell slightly in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Norway ($37,721 per ton), while the average price for exports to Denmark ($6,980 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From May 2022 to May 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Sweden (+3.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Speed Changer Imports in Finland
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in purchases abroad of speed changers, industrial high-speed drives and gear, when their volume decreased by -37.7% to 17K tons.
