Speed Changer Price in Egypt (CIF) - 2023
The average speed changer import price stood at $21,280 per ton in May 2023, increasing by 8.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $22,241 per ton in August 2022; however, from September 2022 to May 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In May 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices from Finland ($22,646 per ton) and the Czech Republic ($22,636 per ton), while the price for China ($19,607 per ton) and the United States ($19,893 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From May 2022 to May 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+0.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2021, the average speed changer export price amounted to $25,655 per ton, reducing by -2.8% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded pronounced growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average export price increased by 394% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $66,707 per ton. From 2018 to 2021, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($25,826 per ton), while the average price for exports to Sudan ($10,823 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Slovenia (+34.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Speed Changer Imports in Egypt
In 2022, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in purchases abroad of speed changers, industrial high-speed drives and gear, when their volume increased by 41% to 2.9K tons. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a pronounced curtailment.
