Snow-Ski Equipment Price in Hungary (FOB) - 2022
The average snow-ski equipment export price stood at $17 per unit in 2022, reducing by -19.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, posted a moderate expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when the average export price increased by 137% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $28 per unit in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the countries with the highest prices were Slovakia ($25 per unit) and Turkey ($19 per unit), while the average price for exports to Germany ($17 per unit) and Romania ($18 per unit) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Slovakia (+7.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In June 2023, the average snow-ski equipment import price amounted to $6.0 per unit, surging by 64% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a slight slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in January 2023 an increase of 549% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $21.6 per unit in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to June 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Germany.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Germany amounted to -1.3% per month.
Snow-Ski Equipment Exports in Hungary
Snow-ski equipment exports from Hungary expanded to 63K units in 2022, increasing by 2.9% against the previous year. In general, exports, however, recorded a noticeable curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 48%. The exports peaked at 70K units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, snow-ski equipment exports contracted markedly to $1M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a deep downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 68% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $2M in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
