The average sheep; live import price stood at $134 per unit in July 2023, shrinking by -4.2% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 an increase of 24% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $154 per unit. From April 2023 to July 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($139 per unit), while the price for France ($128 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

Over the period under review, export price indicated buoyant growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when the average export price increased by 31%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $168 per unit in 2021, and then declined dramatically in the following year.
