Sauce and Seasoning Price in Poland (FOB) - 2023

In July 2023, the average sauce and seasoning export price amounted to $2,762 per ton, approximately reflecting the previous month. Over the period from July 2022 to July 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.6%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in August 2022 an increase of 12% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $2,780 per ton in June 2023, and then dropped in the following month.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the UK ($3,135 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Czech Republic ($1,842 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+5.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Sauce and Seasoning Price in Poland (CIF) - 2023

The average sauce and seasoning import price stood at $3,360 per ton in July 2023, rising by 4.8% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.2%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in March 2023 an increase of 13% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs in July 2023.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Romania ($6,027 per ton), while the price for Ukraine ($1,664 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ukraine (+6.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Sauce and Seasoning Exports in Poland

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was decline in shipments abroad of sauces and seasonings, when their volume decreased by -2.7% to 245K tons. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.1% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 8.8% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 252K tons, and then shrank modestly in the following year.

In value terms, sauce and seasoning exports expanded rapidly to $559M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +11.7% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 15% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

For the fourth consecutive year, Poland recorded growth in overseas purchases of sauces and seasonings, which increased by 5.8% to 112K tons in 2022. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +7.7% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 9.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

In value terms, sauce and seasoning imports rose notably to $298M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +13.5% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 17% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
