The average rendered pig fat export price stood at $1,493 per ton in August 2023, with a decrease of -5.8% against the previous month. In general, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in February 2023 when the average export price increased by 9.6% against the previous month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $1,693 per ton. From March 2023 to August 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Mexico ($1,642 per ton), while the average price for exports to Canada stood at $880 per ton.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Mexico (+0.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average rendered pig fat import price stood at $1,156 per ton in August 2023, with a decrease of -2.5% against the previous month. In general, the import price showed a mild setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in June 2023 when the average import price increased by 8.7% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $1,409 per ton in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to August 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
