Reclaimed Rubber Price in China (FOB) - 2023
In June 2023, the average reclaimed rubber export price amounted to $939 per ton, shrinking by -9.5% against the previous month. In general, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in September 2022 an increase of 18% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $1,062 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to June 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the United States ($1,543 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Philippines ($648 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Senegal (+2.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Reclaimed Rubber Price in China (CIF) - 2022
The average reclaimed rubber import price stood at $657 per ton in 2022, reducing by -3.4% against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a deep setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when the average import price increased by 2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $1,127 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was India ($870 per ton), while the price for South Korea ($532 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Vietnam (+2.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Reclaimed Rubber Exports in China
Reclaimed rubber exports from China reduced dramatically to 90K tons in 2022, with a decrease of -32.1% compared with the year before. Over the period under review, exports saw a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 27% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 133K tons, and then fell notably in the following year.
In value terms, reclaimed rubber exports contracted notably to $88M in 2022. Overall, exports saw a perceptible descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 34% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $119M, and then reduced notably in the following year.
