Railway Track Fixture Price in Germany (FOB) - 2022
The average railway track fixture export price stood at $23,298 per ton in 2022, surging by 1.9% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a mild descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 an increase of 20% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $27,564 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Norway ($36,483 per ton), while the average price for exports to Saudi Arabia ($10,329 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Norway (+4.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In June 2023, the average railway track fixture import price amounted to $6,141 per ton, with a decrease of -13.6% against the previous month. In general, the import price recorded a pronounced curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2023 when the average import price increased by 117% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $8,993 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to June 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($61,136 per ton), while the price for Poland ($2,014 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+6.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
