The average quartzite import price stood at $867 per ton in June 2023, declining by -12.3% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2023 an increase of 86% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $1,386 per ton. From May 2023 to June 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Brazil.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Brazil amounted to +0.6% per month.
Quartzite Price in Italy (FOB) - 2023
The average quartzite export price stood at $2,449 per ton in June 2023, which is down by -8.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2022 when the average export price increased by 28% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $2,997 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to June 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Russia ($5,327 per ton), while the average price for exports to India ($877 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belgium (+8.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
