The average quartzite import price stood at $227 per ton in June 2023, approximately reflecting the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a pronounced shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 36% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $462 per ton. From December 2022 to June 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Brazil ($748 per ton), while the price for Myanmar ($64.0 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+8.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, the average quartzite export price amounted to $38 per ton, rising by 12% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a abrupt contraction.
