In 2022, the average zinc; waste and scrap export price amounted to $800 per ton, rising by 50% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a perceptible descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 127% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $1,409 per ton. From 2019 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Paraguay.
From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Thailand amounted to +2.8% per year.

The average zinc; waste and scrap import price stood at $2,123 per ton in December 2020, remaining constant against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in November 2020 an increase of 3.5% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $2,246 per ton in January 2020; however, from February 2020 to December 2020, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2020, the countries with the highest prices were Italy ($2,254 per ton) and Belgium ($2,248 per ton), while the price for Japan ($1,849 per ton) and Thailand ($2,047 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From January 2020 to December 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+2.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
