Price for Zinc; Powders and Flakes in the United States (CIF) - 2023
The average zinc; powders and flakes import price stood at $4,476 per ton in September 2023, growing by 1.7% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 an increase of 8.1% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $5,226 per ton. From April 2023 to September 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Ireland ($12,868 per ton), while the price for Canada ($645 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Switzerland (+1.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In general, export price indicated moderate growth from September 2022 to September 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.5% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2023 figures, zinc; powders and flakes export price increased by +65.8% against July 2023 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in May 2023 an increase of 67% month-to-month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $5,454 per ton. From June 2023 to September 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
