Price for Zinc; Powders and Flakes in the United States (CIF) - 2023

The average zinc; powders and flakes import price stood at $4,476 per ton in September 2023, growing by 1.7% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 an increase of 8.1% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $5,226 per ton. From April 2023 to September 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Ireland ($12,868 per ton), while the price for Canada ($645 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Switzerland (+1.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2023 figures, zinc; powders and flakes export price increased by +65.8% against July 2023 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in May 2023 an increase of 67% month-to-month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $5,454 per ton. From June 2023 to September 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
