The average export price for zinc; bars, rods, profiles and wires stood at $5,048 per ton in November 2023, waning by -5.2% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2023 an increase of 17% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $5,717 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to November 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In November 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to Vietnam ($5,784 per ton) and Tunisia ($5,781 per ton), while the average price for exports to New Zealand ($4,274 per ton) and Switzerland ($4,640 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From December 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Luxembourg (+1.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
