The average yarn; of flax, single import price stood at $11,955 per ton in November 2021, falling by -8.8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, import price indicated a slight expansion from November 2020 to November 2021: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.1% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. In general, export price indicated a pronounced expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The export price peaked at $13,050 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($36,146 per ton), while the average price for exports to China ($5,124 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hong Kong SAR (+24.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
