The average import price for yarn; of flax, multiple (folded) or cableds stood at $9,828 per ton in December 2023, shrinking by -69.6% against the previous month. Overall, the import price saw a deep contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in June 2023 when the average import price increased by 150% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $43,238 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to December 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Italy ($54,007 per ton), while the price for Egypt ($8,530 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+2.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was the UK ($52,443 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Czech Republic ($11,438 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+7.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
