In 2022, the average wood; shingles and shakes import price amounted to $686 per ton, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous year. Overall, the import price faced a deep downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 an increase of 42%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $2,740 per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($854 per ton), while the price for China stood at $638 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (-7.7%).
