The average wood; posts and beams export price stood at $1,756 per ton in December 2021, leveling off at the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.4%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2021 when the average export price increased by 17% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $1,773 per ton in October 2021; afterwards, it flattened through to December 2021.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Canada.
From December 2020 to December 2021, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Australia amounted to +3.0% per month.

The average wood; posts and beams import price stood at $3,795 per ton in 2022, with a decrease of -7.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 28%. The import price peaked at $4,096 per ton in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Canada ($3,846 per ton), while the price for Slovenia stood at $2,795 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Slovenia (+6.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
