In December 2021, the average wood; posts and beams import price amounted to $1,573 per ton, shrinking by -5.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, import price indicated a slight increase from December 2020 to December 2021: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.8% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on December 2021 figures, wood; posts and beams import price decreased by -23.4% against August 2021 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in July 2021 when the average import price increased by 25% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $2,054 per ton in August 2021; however, from September 2021 to December 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Germany.
From December 2020 to December 2021, the rate of growth in terms of prices for the Czech Republic amounted to +8.8% per month.

The average wood; posts and beams export price stood at $747 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 28% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.0%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 an increase of 37%. The export price peaked at $929 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Cote d'Ivoire ($2,269 per ton), while the average price for exports to France ($195 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Mauritania (+10.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Imports of Wood; Posts and Beams in Morocco
