The average import price for wood stood at $7.8 per cubic meter in 2022, growing by 11% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a buoyant increase from 2017 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +11.1% over the last five-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, import price for wood increased by +88.7% against 2018 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 23% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($30 per cubic meter), while the price for Singapore ($2.7 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2017 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Lao People's Democratic Republic (+103.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price peaked at $131 per cubic meter in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major overseas markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($11 per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Lao People's Democratic Republic totaled $9.9 per cubic meter.
From 2017 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Lao People's Democratic Republic (-17.6%).
