Price for Wire of Other Alloy Steel in Germany (CIF) - 2023
The average import price for wire of other alloy steels stood at $2,377 per ton in August 2023, almost unchanged from the previous month. Over the last ten months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.1%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 an increase of 12% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $2,605 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to August 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Japan ($6,361 per ton), while the price for Turkey ($1,060 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Czech Republic (+3.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for wire of other alloy steels stood at $3,064 per ton in August 2023, surging by 9.1% against the previous month. Over the last ten months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.0%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in November 2022 an increase of 16% month-to-month. The export price peaked in August 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Saudi Arabia ($8,488 per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK ($2,492 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Austria (+5.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Wire of Other Alloy Steel in Germany

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 64%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $363M, and then dropped slightly in the following year.
