Price for Winding Wire of Copper in Malaysia (FOB) - 2021
The average winding wire of copper export price stood at $12,278 per ton in December 2021, picking up by 3.5% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.0%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2021 an increase of 12% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $12,290 per ton in July 2021; afterwards, it flattened through to December 2021.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($20,852 per ton), while the average price for exports to Vietnam ($10,770 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2020 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Turkey (+5.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In December 2021, the average winding wire of copper import price amounted to $16,893 per ton, jumping by 23% against the previous month. Over the period under review, import price indicated a resilient increase from December 2020 to December 2021: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +9.4% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on December 2021 figures, winding wire of copper import price increased by +23.0% against November 2021 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2021 when the average import price increased by 137% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $17,302 per ton in August 2021; however, from September 2021 to December 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
