The average winding wire of copper export price stood at $13,908 per ton in June 2023, approximately equating the previous month. In general, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 when the average export price increased by 14% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $14,062 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to June 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was the UK ($48,167 per ton), while the average price for exports to Italy ($10,229 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+2.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
