The average import price for white sugar (containing >= 99,5% sucrose) and chemically pure sucrose stood at $546 per ton in December 2021, waning by -10.6% against the previous month. Over the last eleven-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.7%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in November 2021 when the average import price increased by 11% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $610 per ton, and then fell in the following month.

From January 2021 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Algeria (+11.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
