In September 2022, the average import price for vegetables; potatoes (other than seed), fresh or chilleds amounted to $896 per ton, growing by 4.7% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated noticeable growth from September 2021 to September 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.6% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2022 figures, import price for vegetables; potatoes (other than seed), fresh or chilleds decreased by -3.1% against May 2022 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2022 an increase of 27% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $925 per ton in May 2022; however, from June 2022 to September 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Australia ($2,077 per ton), while the price for Bangladesh ($424 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From September 2021 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Pakistan (+5.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $2,320 per ton. From February 2022 to September 2022, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was Brunei Darussalam ($1,994 per ton), while the average price for exports to Indonesia ($532 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From September 2021 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Brunei Darussalam (+3.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports of Vegetables; Potatoes (Other than Seed), Fresh or Chilled in Singapore

In 2022, supplies from abroad of vegetables; potatoes (other than seed), fresh or chilleds decreased by -0.1% to 46K tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Overall, imports continue to indicate a mild decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 1%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 49K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports of remained at a lower figure.
