The average export price for tungsten (wolfram); waste and scraps stood at $22,618 per ton in July 2023, increasing by 7.4% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 when the average export price increased by 42% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $24,993 per ton in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to July 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major overseas markets. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Austria ($24,208 per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany totaled $20,357 per ton.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Singapore (0.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
