The average tobacco, unmanufactured; tobacco refuse export price stood at $7,239 per ton in June 2023, flattening at the previous month. In general, export price indicated a moderate increase from June 2022 to June 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.0% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2023 figures, tobacco, unmanufactured; tobacco refuse export price increased by +16.7% against April 2023 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in November 2022 when the average export price increased by 44% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $7,314 per ton in May 2023, and then contracted in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Jordan ($11,895 per ton), while the average price for exports to Serbia ($4,385 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Portugal (+9.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

As a result, import price reached the peak level of $4,701 per ton. From 2018 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($6,371 per ton), while the price for Pakistan ($2,777 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
