The average export price for tobacco; partly or wholly stemmed or stripped stood at $4,708 per ton in 2022, dropping by -9.9% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a slight downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 11% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $6,112 per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.

Over the period under review, the import price, however, enjoyed a remarkable increase. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $40,858 per ton, and then declined dramatically in the following year.
