In 2022, the average import price for tobacco; partly or wholly stemmed or stripped amounted to $4,512 per ton, leveling off at the previous year. From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+2.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the last eleven months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.6%. The growth pace was the most rapid in September 2023 when the average export price increased by 45% m-o-m. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $9,572 per ton. From October 2023 to November 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Lesotho ($18,287 per ton), while the average price for exports to South Korea ($7,637 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Swaziland (+18.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
