The average import price for tobacco; partly or wholly stemmed or stripped stood at $8,369 per ton in October 2023, surging by 17% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +4.2%. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Guatemala ($9,669 per ton), while the price for China ($5,950 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
