Price for Titanium; Waste and Scrap in the UK (CIF) - 2023

The average titanium; waste and scrap import price stood at $4,770 per ton in June 2023, stabilizing at the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a noticeable reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2022 an increase of 53% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $8,094 per ton. From November 2022 to June 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the countries with the highest prices were France ($5,474 per ton) and Germany ($5,386 per ton), while the price for the United States ($3,681 per ton) and Spain ($3,907 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (-2.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

Over the period from June 2022 to June 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.1%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 when the average export price increased by 31% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $10,600 per ton in October 2022; however, from November 2022 to June 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Germany ($16,358 per ton), while the average price for exports to South Korea ($8,470 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Estonia (+15.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Titanium; waste and scrap imports into the UK soared to 11K tons in 2022, with an increase of 54% compared with the year before. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a strong increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.6% over the last three-year period.
