Price for Tiles, Flagstones and Similar Articles of Cement, Concrete or Artificial Stone in Poland (FOB) - 2023

The average export price for tiles, flagstones and similar articles of cement, concrete or artificial stone stood at $343 per ton in August 2023, which is down by -7.1% against the previous month. Over the period from September 2022 to August 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.1%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in July 2023 an increase of 15% against the previous month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $369 per ton, and then fell in the following month.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($8,471 per ton), while the average price for exports to Belarus ($122 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From September 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Russia (+12.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average import price for tiles, flagstones and similar articles of cement, concrete or artificial stone amounted to $428 per ton, with an increase of 21% against the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate buoyant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when the average import price increased by 27%. The import price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($1,033 per ton), while the price for Slovakia ($60 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hungary (+4.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Exports of tiles, flagstones and similar articles of cement, concrete or artificial stone from Poland expanded slightly to 161K tons in 2022, growing by 2.8% against the year before. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +8.3% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being observed in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 14% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, exports of tiles, flagstones and similar articles of cement, concrete or artificial stone fell to $47M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 20% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $49M, and then dropped slightly in the following year.
