In 2022, the average import price for terpenic oils; gum, wood or sulphate turpentine oilses amounted to $3,812 per ton, with a decrease of -21.7% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a perceptible increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when the average import price increased by 34% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $4,871 per ton, and then dropped sharply in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($9,333 per ton), while the price for Tunisia ($3,615 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+3.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
