Price for Television, Video and Digital Camera in Italy (CIF) - 2023

In June 2023, the average import price for television, video and digital cameras amounted to $68.0 per unit, with a decrease of -23.7% against the previous month. In general, the import price recorded a pronounced decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in February 2023 an increase of 55% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $104 per unit in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to June 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Ireland ($194 per unit), while the price for China ($46.6 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ireland (+2.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Price for Television, Video and Digital Camera in Italy (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average export price for television, video and digital cameras amounted to $239 per unit, dropping by -5.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the average export price increased by 22% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $282 per unit in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($499 per unit), while the average price for exports to Turkey ($45 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Spain (+11.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports of Television, Video and Digital Camera in Italy

For the fourth year in a row, Italy recorded growth in supplies from abroad of television, video and digital cameras, which increased by 1.2% to 5.2M units in 2022. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.8% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 9.8% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

In value terms, television, video and digital camera imports dropped to $581M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.8% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 4.5%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $584M in 2021, and then fell slightly in the following year.
