The average import price for tarpaulins, awnings and sunblinds of synthetic fibreses stood at $1,379 per ton in January 2024, surging by 12% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $1,590 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to January 2024, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Thailand ($2,603 per ton), while the price for China ($1,250 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2023 to January 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Korea (+5.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
