The average export price for sweet biscuits, waffles and wafers stood at $5,284 per ton in July 2023, approximately equating the previous month. Over the period from July 2022 to July 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.2%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 12% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs in July 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($7,351 per ton), while the average price for exports to Sweden ($4,150 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+3.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for sweet biscuits, waffles and wafers stood at $4,573 per ton in July 2023, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.8%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2022 an increase of 9.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $4,586 per ton in June 2023, and then fell modestly in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Bulgaria ($6,016 per ton), while the price for the Czech Republic ($3,171 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Austria (+6.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Exports of Sweet Biscuit, Waffle and Wafer in Germany
