The average export price for sweet biscuits, waffles and wafers stood at $2,337 per ton in September 2023, approximately reflecting the previous month. In general, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in December 2022 an increase of 6.5% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $2,341 per ton in August 2023, and then declined in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Mexico ($4,429 per ton), while the average price for exports to Angola ($1,576 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Uruguay (+1.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for sweet biscuits, waffles and wafers stood at $6,920 per ton in September 2023, almost unchanged from the previous month. Over the period from September 2022 to September 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.5%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in December 2022 when the average import price increased by 39% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $7,837 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to September 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Poland ($9,624 per ton), while the price for Argentina ($2,224 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+4.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
