The average import price for sulphites; other than of sodia stood at $490 per ton in 2022, dropping by -4% against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average import price increased by 95%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $1,448 per ton. From 2018 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($1,097 per ton), while the price for China ($263 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (-0.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Imports of Sulphites; Other than of Sodium in Ghana
Sulphites; other than of sodium imports into Ghana stood at 851 tons in 2022, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous year's figure. Overall, imports continue to indicate a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 124% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 863 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
