The average import price for sugars; fructose, chemically pure, in solid form stood at $654 per ton in 2022, waning by -26.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a noticeable setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 58%. The import price peaked at $888 per ton in 2021, and then dropped remarkably in the following year.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from India ($721 per ton) and the United Arab Emirates ($653 per ton), while the price for the UK ($488 per ton) and Israel ($515 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+19.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
