The average export price for sugar confectionery; (excluding chewing gum, including white chocolate), not containing cocoa stood at $4,034 per ton in 2022, picking up by 6.9% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.2%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 12%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $4,250 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to the Philippines ($4,034 per ton) and Japan ($4,034 per ton), while the average price for exports to Taiwan (Chinese) ($4,034 per ton) and Thailand ($4,034 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Philippines (+1.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in the near future.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from Indonesia ($4,370 per ton) and Thailand ($4,370 per ton), while the price for China ($4,370 per ton) and South Korea ($4,370 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
