In October 2023, the average export price for sugar confectionery; (excluding chewing gum, including white chocolate), not containing cocoa amounted to $2,195 per ton, dropping by -2% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, showed a mild increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in May 2023 an increase of 4.4% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $2,244 per ton in August 2023; afterwards, it flattened through to October 2023.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($2,741 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Czech Republic ($1,770 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kazakhstan (+2.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In October 2023, the average import price for sugar confectionery; (excluding chewing gum, including white chocolate), not containing cocoa amounted to $5,833 per ton, surging by 16% against the previous month. Over the period from November 2022 to October 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.9%. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Poland ($10,067 per ton), while the price for Turkey ($3,465 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+5.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, overseas shipments of sugar confectionery; (excluding chewing gum, including white chocolate), not containing cocoa decreased by -30.7% to 70K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. In general, exports recorded a deep slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 6.3%.
In value terms, exports of sugar confectionery; (excluding chewing gum, including white chocolate), not containing cocoa reduced remarkably to $139M in 2022. Overall, exports showed a pronounced reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 18%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $200M, and then shrank rapidly in the following year.

As a result, imports reached the peak of 17K tons, and then declined sharply in the following year.
